On the North end of Sitka, there's a lovely artesian well that provides health conscious Sitkans with wonderful water. The well is in the Starrigavan campground just beyond the Starrigavan Estuary. The estuary fills and empties twice daily with the tide. Six or eight swans feed in the estuary during the winter months. During a cold spell in January 2019, chunks of ice formed in the water. While returning from the well with her sleigh full of water jugs, Kris stopped at the estuary and photographed some swans. I used two of those photos to create our Swan Leggings. The white horizontal lines running up the leggings are pieces of ice floating in the water. The swans are positioned to be visible from the front on one leg and from the back on the other. Kris and I went out to get water a few weeks later and the ice was gone, but the swans were happy to pose next to Kris in her Swan Leggings. I've created over two hundred leggings designs and yes, these leggings are some of my favorites. *Note: The computer mockup images show the design accurately, but not the color. The photographs of Kris provide a true representation of the colors of the leggings.
