I shot the photo used in this design from Mt. Verstovia (seen behind Kris in one of the photos as she practices a yoga pose) early one November morning more than a decade ago. Cross Mountain can be seen just to the right of Kris in most of the photos shown above. Cross Mountain is well known to Sitkans because of the snowy cross that remains long after the rest of the snow has melted.
